My Volkswagen Story...
My first real memory of what a car was comes from a cherished childhood toy: a silver Volkswagen Beetle—Barbie's car. Adorned with vibrant flower stickers and a pink flower nestled in a tiny holder on the dashboard, it was my introduction to the world of automobiles. That Beetle wasn’t just a toy; it was my gateway to understanding how people identify with what they own.
Years later, my connection with Volkswagen deepened at 24G, where the iconic Volkswagen Westy, affectionately named Emily, became a central figure. Emily wasn’t just a vintage van; she was our "book mobile," stationed in the middle of the office and filled with books for everyone to borrow. Working with Emily was a highlight of my time at 24G. I helped transform her into a mobile podcast studio and took her on the road to four Chicago dealerships. Through these experiences, Emily became more than a vehicle—she was a symbol of creativity and community.
From a flower-stickered Beetle to the beloved Westy, Volkswagen has always been more than just a brand to me; it’s been a journey of discovery and inspiration. I am looking forward to uncovering this next chapter in my career and finding inspiration in a new beginning.
